MDCT (SCANNER) CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHY

Kratak opis: Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.

Multislice Scanner (MSCT) coronary angiography is a scanning of small blood vessels that feed the heart (coronary arteries) in order to detect narrowing on them (coronary disease). Unlike conventional coronarography, catheters are not used. Recording takes 30-45 minutes.

INDICATIONS / WHY IT IS DONE?

In order to detect coronary disease and other diseases of the coronary arteries

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

• In order to perform scanner coronarography, an iodine contrast agent is injected into the vein (given intravenously). After giving a contrast, you can feel warmth that spreads through your body or have metallic taste in your mouth.

• Using X rays, images of coronary arteries from multiple sections are made.

• ECG patients are being monitored all the time.

POTENTIAL RISKS

• The radiation dose you exposed during this recording does not lead to serious complications.

• An allergic reaction to a contrast medium (which can be prevented by adequate preparation for the process) is possible.

PREPARATION

• Do not eat, drink and take beverages with caffeine (coffee, tea, coke) 4 hours before recording.

• If you know that you have an allergy to an iodine contrast agent, you need to inform your medical staff!

• If you are taking Metformin, Gluformin, Glucophage Cialis, Viagra or Levitra, you should stop taking the medicine before taking it in consultation with your doctor (Gluformin, Metformin should be discontinued the day before, on the day of the recording and the day after the recording)

• If you have kidney failure, it is necessary to check the parameters of the renal function: urea and creatinine (results must not be older than 2 weeks).

• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect that you are pregnant since this may have a damaging effect on the fetus.

• Take all previous medical records and reports from the previous coronarography (if you have done them).

AFTER MSCT CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHY

After recording, you can return to your usual daily activities.
