Kinesiotherapy

Kinesiotherapy is a type of physical therapy characterized by the use of movement as a method of treatment. Kinesiotherapy requires active participation of patients in the process of treatment and allows for the establishment of adequate functioning, rehabilitation and training of patients after various injuries and illnesses. The therapy lasts about 45 minutes.

WHEN IT IS DONE / INDICATIONS

• As part of the rehabilitation and treatment of orthopedic diseases (dysfunctions, fractures of fractures, injuries), neurological diseases (brain, spinal cord injury) and rheumatic diseases.

• As part of the treatment of scoliosis, kyphosis, flat feet (corrective exercises).

• In sports injuries and rehabilitation of athletes.

• Within physical therapy in pediatric patients.

• Prevention of osteoporosis, chronic problems in the neck and lumbar region due to improper holding, improvement of psychophysical, social and mental health.

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

For the successful implementation of various exercises within kinesiotherapy, supervision and professional assistance of a physiotherapist is needed. Exercises that are performed can be active (requiring voluntary muscular activity) and passive (in patients who cannot perform active movements). Kinesiotherapy can be combined with other modalities of physical therapy for the purpose of faster and more successful rehabilitation (if possible).
