Doppler of blood vessels of legs

Color Doppler of the blood vessels of the legs is a non-invasive, harmless and painless ultrasound method, which, using the Doppler effect, accurately examines the condition of the arterial and venous blood vessels of the legs and the blood flow in them. The review takes about 20 minutes.

INDICATIONS / WHY IS IT WORKING?

• In order to test blood flow, the appearance of the wall of blood vessels and other characteristics of blood vessels.
• In patients with suspected narrowing (stenosis), obstruction (occlusion), or dilation (aneurysm) of the blood vessels.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• You will lie down during the examination
• The doctor places a special gel on the surface of the ultrasound probe. A probe is a small plastic device that sends and receives ultrasonic waves. The gel has the role of improving the conductivity of ultrasonic waves and eliminating air between the skin and the probe.

POTENTIAL RISKS

The examination is not uncomfortable and carries no risk.

PREPARATION

No special preparation is required for this examination.

AFTER THE EXAMINATION

You can get back to your normal activities right away.
