Dermoscopy

Dermoscopy  (dermatoscopy or epiluminiscent microscopy) is a skin examination with a  dermatoscope. Melanomascopy is a review of clinically suspicious skin  changes with the help of melanoscopy. Dermoscopy and melanmaoscopy are  simple and quick reviews (lasting several minutes) that allow early  detection of skin tumors and differentiation of malignant tumors from  the benign tumors, as well as a wide range of different skin changes and  timely treatment.

WHY IT IS DONE/ INDICATIONS?

• Early detection of melanoma and differentiation of malignant from benign skin changes.

• Digital dermatoscopy is important for monitoring skin changes over a long period of time.

•  In the examination and detection of various skin tumors: basocellular  carcinoma, squamocellular carcinoma, dermatofibroma, seborrhoea  keratosis and others.

• In revealing the scabies and pubic louse.

• In the examination of nipples; differentiating nipples from other skin changes.

• In the examination of fungal skin infections, baldness …

• Determination of margins in the surgical excision of changes.

POTENTIAL RISKS

Dermoscopy and melanomascopy are completely painless diagnostic methods that do not carry the risk of complications.

PREPARATION

No special preparation for these reviews is required.

You can immediately return to your usual daily activities.
